Tomato Basil & Mushroom Pasta

Ingredient Preparation & Service
  • 1 tablespoon Crisco® Canola oil
  • 1 Large white Onion
  • Teaspoon Crushed Garlic
  • 2 Tomatoes (Peeled and Chopped)
  • 1 Table Spoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Basil (Finely Chopped)
  • 10 Button Mushrooms
  • Black Pepper to Season
  • 1 Pack of Penne Pasta
  • 1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • Sauce - Heat CRISCO CANOLA Oil in a saucepan. Cook Onion & garlic until Onion in soft. Add Tomatoes, Tomato Paste, Sugar & Basil (30g).
  • Simmer - Simmer for 25min until sauce has thickened. Add Mushrooms & cook for a further 5 min, (season to taste).
  • Pasta - Cook Pasta in salted water until tender, drain thoroughly. Place Pasta into serving dish, Sauce & Garnish with Parmesan Cheese & Basil
